As a founding partner of Atwater Malick, LLC, Ben's primary responsibility is to lead the investment policy and security selection processes. Additionally, he maintains a high level of client service, including leading the firm's efforts to create compelling and frequent communications for clients and their advisors. Ben communicates with individual clients, helping them build customized investment portfolios and discussing changes in market conditions and clients' financial circumstances.
Before launching Atwater Malick, LLC in September of 2008, Ben worked as a Senior Portfolio Manager with the Bank of New York Mellon and a Portfolio Manager with Fulton Financial Advisors. In these roles, Ben managed investment portfolios for institutional, personal and trust relationships, including day-to-day and strategic portfolio decision-making.
Ben holds his Masters of Business Administration degree from Lebanon Valley College and his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Miami University. He has been a periodic contributor to the opinion section of the Central Penn Business Journal.
Ben is actively involved in several local non-profit activities, including: the Occupational Development Center Board of Directors - Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair; the Occupational Development Center Foundation - Founding Board Member, Treasurer; the American Red Cross of the Susquehanna Valley Board of Directors - Finance Committee Chair, Investment Committee Chair, Audit Committee; Lancaster County Community Foundation Board of Directors - Chair of Asset Development Committee, Investment Committee; Board of Trustees of the First Presbyterian Church of Lancaster, PA - Annual Giving Committee.

As a founding partner and Chief Compliance Officer of Atwater Malick, LLC, Matt is primarily responsible for managing the firm's regulatory, operational, and technology solutions. Matt is also heavily involved in developing Atwater Malick, LLC's investment policy and strategic planning. Most importantly, Matt works closely with individual clients to build customized investment portfolios and communicate changes in market conditions and clients' financial circumstances.
Before launching Atwater Malick, LLC in September of 2008, Matt was a Senior Portfolio Manager with the Bank of New York Mellon, implementing investment strategies for high net worth clients, complex family trusts, endowments, and foundations. Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Matt served as an Economist with the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, an independent national statistical agency that collects, processes, analyzes, and disseminates essential economic indicators.
Matt holds his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER designation and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Millersville University. He has been a frequent guest on WITF's Smart Talk radio and television series to discuss topics ranging from personal investment strategies to entrepreneurship. He has also been a periodic contributor to the opinion section of the Central Penn Business Journal.
Matt is an active member of the Channels Food Rescue Board of Directors.
